Texas High School Basketball - Liberty thwarts Abernathy
January 5, 2024: Abernathy, TX 79311 The Liberty Patriots (Lubbock, TX) basketball knocked off the host Abernathy Antelopes (Abernathy, TX), 55-45 in Friday's league test.
The Patriots (12-11) will now prepare for their test against Shallowater (Shallowater, TX). The Mustangs go into the 3A Region I District 2 test with a 15-2 record.
The Antelopes now own a 8-10 record. They play next when they travel to Childress for a 3A Region I District 2 test on Tuesday, January 9. Abernathy will encounter a Bobcats squad coming off a 58-47 league win over Idalou (Idalou, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 16-5.
