Beecher Buccaneers (Flint, MI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host International Academy Phoenix (Flint, MI), 61-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, Beecher upgrades its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to River Rouge (River Rouge, MI) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 7-5.

Next up, the Phoenix play the Durand Railroaders (Durand, MI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. International Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Railroaders come into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 69-67 league win over Hill-McCloy (Montrose, MI).
