January 27, 2023: Hays, MT 59527 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Fort Benton Longhorns (Fort Benton, MT) and the host Hays-Lodge Pole Thunder Birds (Hays, MT), saw Fort Benton's basketball squad knock off Hays-Lodge Pole by a count of 62-49.
With the victory, Fort Benton upgrades its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Longhorns host Big Sandy (Big Sandy, MT) to play the Pioneers in a C District 9 challenge on Saturday, January 28. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 11-2. Big Sandy won 80-53 in their recent non-league challenge against Stanford/Geyser/Denton (Stanford, MT)
Next up, the Thunder Birds play the Chinook Beeters (Chinook, MT) in a C District 9 challenge, on Saturday, January 28. Hays-Lodge Pole will attempt to upgrade on its 0-12 season record. The Beeters come into the challenge with a 3-8 record after their 67-35 league loss to Chester-Joplin-Inverness (Chester, MT).
