Arkansas High School Basketball - Rector nips Marmaduke
January 27, 2023: Marmaduke, AR 72443 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Rector Cougars (Rector, AR) and the host Marmaduke Greyhounds (Marmaduke, AR), saw Rector's basketball squad hold off Marmaduke by a tally of 68-61.
With the victory, Rector improves its record to 16-3 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Buffalo Island Central (Monette, AR) to play the Mustangs in a 2A Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 15-6. Buffalo Island Central won 68-56 in their recent league challenge against Earle (Earle, AR)
Next up, the Greyhounds play the Cross County Thunderbirds (Cherry Valley, AR) in a 2A Region 3 challenge, on Wednesday, February 1. Marmaduke will attempt to improve on its 12-12 season record. The Thunderbirds come into the challenge with a 4-15 record after their 57-37 league loss to Riverside (Lake City, AR).
