Massachusetts High School Basketball - Needham nips Wellesley
January 27, 2023: Wellesley, MA 02481 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Needham Rockets (Needham, MA) and the host Wellesley Raiders (Wellesley, MA), saw Needham's basketball squad hold off Wellesley by a count of 49-46.
With the victory, Needham upgrades its record to 10-1 on the campaign. The Rockets host Weymouth (South Weymouth, MA) to play the Wildcats in a Bay State - Herget challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 7-7. Weymouth won 61-52 in their recent non-league challenge against Framingham (Framingham, MA)
Next up, the Raiders play the Newton North Tigers (Newtonville, MA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Wellesley will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 10-3 record after their 60-58 non-league win over Walpole (Walpole, MA).
