North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC), 63-23 in a league bout.

With the win, North Wilkes upgrades its record to 15-5 on the season. The Vikings host Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC) to play the Eagles in a 2A Conference 37 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 6-14. Wilkes Central lost 69-24 in their recent league bout against East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC)

Next up, the Blackhawks play the North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC) in a 2A Conference 37 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. West Wilkes will attempt to upgrade on its 4-16 season record. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a 12-6 record after their 54-32 league loss to Forbush (East Bend, NC).
