Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Yough crushes Monessen
January 27, 2024: Herminie, PA 15637 Yough Cougars (Herminie, PA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Monessen Greyhounds (Monessen, PA), 54-33 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Yough upgrades its record to 12-3 on the season. The Cougars host Washington (Washington, PA) to clash with the Prexies in a WPIAL 3A 4 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Prexies go into the bout with a record of 4-4.
Next up, the Greyhounds clash with the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets (Jefferson, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Monessen will attempt to upgrade on its 13-3 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 12-6 record after their 66-58 league win over Mapletown (Greensboro, PA).
