Maine High School Basketball - Mount Desert Island sneaks past Foxcroft Academy
January 28, 2025: Mount Desert, ME 04660 The Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME) basketball edged the visiting Foxcroft Academy Ponies (Dover-Foxcroft, ME), 49-44 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Trojans now possess a 11-7 record. They play next when they host Washington Academy for a B North bout on Thursday, January 30. Mount Desert Island will play a Raiders team coming off a 72-43 non-league win over Narraguagus (Harrington, ME). The Raiders record now stands at 7-8.
With the loss, Foxcroft Academy falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Ponies host Central (East Corinth, ME) to play the Red Devils in a non-league bout on Friday, January 31. The Red Devils go into the bout with a record of 6-8. Central lost 55-42 in their recent league bout against Penquis Valley (Milo, ME)
