Illinois High School Basketball - Monticello knocks off Prairie Central
January 28, 2025: Monticello, IL 61856 The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL) and the visiting Prairie Central Hawks (Fairbury, IL), observed Monticello's basketball team overcome Prairie Central by a margin of 55-43.
The Sages (12-9) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL). The Spartans come into the Illini Prairie challenge with a 15-5 record. In their last challenge, St. Joseph-Ogden defeated St. Thomas More (Champaign, IL), 85-33, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Hawks battle the Tolono Unity Rockets (Tolono, IL) in a Illini Prairie challenge, on Friday, January 31. Prairie Central will attempt to better on its 6-16 season record. The Rockets come into the challenge with a 17-6 record after their 67-49 league win over Bloomington Central Catholic (Bloomington, IL).
