Illinois High School Basketball - Monticello toppled by Rantoul
February 4, 2025: Rantoul, IL 61866 Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL), 58-47 in a league match.
With the victory, Rantoul upgrades its record to 12-12 on the year. The Eagles travel to St. Thomas More (Champaign, IL) to face the Sabers in a Illini Prairie match on Friday, February 7. The Sabers enter the match with a record of 9-15. St. Thomas More lost 53-42 in their recent non-league match against LeRoy (LeRoy, IL)
The Sages now sport a 12-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central for a non-league match on Saturday, February 8. Monticello will face a Bluejays squad coming off a 52-41 league win over New Berlin (New Berlin, IL). The Bluejays record now stands at 20-4.
