Illinois High School Basketball - Rantoul bested by Pleasant Plains
February 8, 2025: Pleasant Plains, IL 62677 Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL), 55-35 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Pleasant Plains advances its record to 15-10 on the year. The Cardinals host PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Petersburg, IL) to face the Bluejays in a Sangamo match on Tuesday, February 11. The Bluejays enter the match with a record of 22-4. PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central won 57-49 in their recent non-league match against Monticello (Monticello, IL)
The Eagles now own a 13-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Joseph-Ogden for a Illini Prairie match on Tuesday, February 11. Rantoul will face a Spartans squad coming off a 53-45 non-league loss to Auburn (Auburn, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 17-7.
