Virginia High School Basketball - Gate City tops Abingdon
January 29, 2024: Gate City, VA 24251 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) and the visiting Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA), witnessed Gate City's basketball squad topple Abingdon by a margin of 63-54.
The Blue Devils (10-3) will now prepare for their test against Lee (Jonesville, VA). The Generals go into the Mountain test with a 2-12 record. In their last test, Lee went down by Central Wise (Norton, VA), 84-46, in a league test.
The Falcons now own a 9-10 record. They play next when they host John Battle for a Mountain test on Tuesday, January 30. Abingdon will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 60-41 non-league loss to Virginia High (Bristol, VA). The Trojans record now stands at 4-12.
