Polo Marcos (Polo, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders (Ashton, IL), 45-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Polo upgrades its record to 8-7 on the campaign. The Marcos host Eastland (Lanark, IL) to play the Cougars in a Northwest Upstate Illini - South bout on Thursday, January 5. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 5-6. Eastland won 61-36 in their recent non-league bout against Amboy (Amboy, IL)
