Illinois High School Basketball - Massac County holds off Herrin
January 3, 2023: Metropolis, IL 62960 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL) and the visiting Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL), saw Massac County's basketball squad hold off Herrin by a tally of 46-41.
With the victory, Massac County improves its record to 13-2 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Benton (Benton, IL) to confront the Rangers in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio challenge on Friday, January 6. The Rangers come into the challenge with a record of 9-3. Benton lost 61-52 in their recent league challenge against Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL)
Next up, the Tigers confront the Frankfort Redbirds (West Frankfort, IL) in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio challenge, on Friday, January 6. Herrin will attempt to improve on its 13-1 season record. The Redbirds come into the challenge with a 3-8 record after their 47-41 non-league loss to Fairfield (Fairfield, IL).
