Illinois High School Basketball - Morton holds off Centennial
January 3, 2024: Morton, IL 61550 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Morton Potters (Morton, IL) and the visiting Centennial Chargers (Champaign, IL), saw Morton's basketball squad hold off Centennial by a tally of 68-61.
With the victory, Morton improves its record to 16-2 on the campaign. The Potters travel to Dunlap (Dunlap, IL) to confront the Eagles in a Mid-Illini challenge on Saturday, January 6. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 7-6. Dunlap won 66-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL)
Next up, the Chargers confront the Danville Vikings (Danville, IL) in a Big Twelve challenge, on Friday, January 5. Centennial will attempt to improve on its 8-4 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 5-9 record after their 62-51 non-league win over Cardinal Newman (Columbia, SC).
