Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Mount Carmel holds off Southern Columbia Area
January 3, 2024: Catawissa, PA 17820 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES (Mount Carmel, PA) and the host Southern Columbia Area Tigers (Catawissa, PA), saw Mount Carmel's basketball squad hold off Southern Columbia Area by a tally of 58-52.
With the victory, Mount Carmel improves its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The RED TORNADOES travel to Bloomsburg (Bloomsburg, PA) to confront the Panthers in a Heartland III challenge on Saturday, January 6. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 2-6. Bloomsburg lost 77-54 in their recent league challenge against Loyalsock Township (Williamsport, PA)
Next up, the Tigers confront the Hughesville Spartans (Hughesville, PA) in a Heartland III challenge, on Friday, January 5. Southern Columbia Area will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 44-43 league win over Warrior Run (Turbotville, PA).
