Maine High School Basketball - Ellsworth nips Old Town
January 3, 2024: Old Town, ME 04468 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Ellsworth Eagles (Ellsworth, ME) and the host Old Town Coyotes (Old Town, ME), saw Ellsworth's basketball squad hold off Old Town by a count of 53-48.
With the victory, Ellsworth upgrades its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Eagles host Houlton (Houlton, ME) to play the Shiretowners in a B North challenge on Saturday, January 6. The Shiretowners come into the challenge with a record of 4-4. Houlton won 35-33 in their recent league challenge against John Bapst Memorial (Bangor, ME)
Next up, the Coyotes play the Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME) in a B North challenge, on Friday, January 5. Old Town will attempt to upgrade on its 7-1 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 5-2 record after their 48-19 league win over Washington Academy (East Machias, ME).
