In Friday's league contest, the visiting Anna Coyotes basketball team scored a close 74-70 triumph over the Sherman Bearcats.

The Coyotes (8-14) will now prepare for their contest against Walnut Grove (Prosper, TX). The Wildcats go into the 5A Region II District 9 contest with a 18-7 record. In their last contest, Walnut Grove nipped McKinney North (McKinney, TX), 65-53, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Bearcats confront the Denison Yellow Jackets (Denison, TX) in a 5A Region II District 9 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Sherman will attempt to better on its 8-15 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the contest with a 16-4 record after their 73-50 league win over Greenville (Greenville, TX).
