South Dakota High School Basketball - Wagner thwarts Avon
January 3, 2025: Avon, SD 57315 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Wagner Red Raiders (Wagner, SD) and the host Avon Pirates (Avon, SD), observed Wagner's basketball team knock off Avon by a score of 66-52.
The Red Raiders (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Ethan (Ethan, SD). The Rustlers come into the non-league challenge with a 3-2 record. In their last challenge, Ethan prevailed over Scotland/Menno (Menno, SD), 61-45, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Pirates encounter the Alcester-Hudson Cubs (Alcester, SD) in a B Region 4 challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Avon will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Cubs come into the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 56-36 non-league win over Bon Homme (Tyndall, SD).
