The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Highlands Scots (North Highlands, CA) and the visiting Golden Sierra Grizzlies (Garden Valley, CA), observed Highlands's basketball team edge Golden Sierra by a score of 58-53.

The Scots (6-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Mesa Verde (Citrus Heights, CA). The Mavericks come into the Sierra Delta League challenge with a 3-11 record. In their last challenge, Mesa Verde edged San Juan (Citrus Heights, CA), 40-36, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Grizzlies encounter the Vacaville Christian Falcons (Vacaville, CA) in a Sierra Delta League challenge, on Tuesday, January 7.
