In Friday's league test, the Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS) basketball squad trounced the host Northeast Jones Tigers (Laurel, MS), by a score of 55-26.

Next, the Panthers clash with the Pascagoula Panthers (Pascagoula, MS) in a non-league test, on Saturday, January 4. Quitman will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record. The Panthers come into the test with a 6-6 record after their 43-4 non-league win over Raleigh (Raleigh, MS).
