The New Hanover Wildcats basketball team scored 40 points and limited the visiting Laney Buccaneers to 15 in the Wildcats league triumph on Friday.

The Wildcats now possess a 4-1 record. They play next when they travel to North Brunswick for a non-league game on Tuesday, January 7. New Hanover will confront a Scorpions team coming off a 91-83 non-league loss to West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Scorpions record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Laney falls to 5-1 on the campaign. The Buccaneers host South Brunswick (Southport, NC) to confront the Cougars in a game on Tuesday, January 7.
