January 30, 2024: Willow Wood, OH 45696 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Symmes Valley Vikings (Willow Wood, OH) and the visiting St. Joseph Central Flyers (Ironton, OH), saw Symmes Valley's basketball squad hold off St. Joseph Central by a tally of 43-41.
With the victory, Symmes Valley improves its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Vikings host Oak Hill (Oak Hill, OH) to play the Oaks in a Southern Ohio II challenge on Friday, February 2. The Oaks come into the challenge with a record of 5-11. Oak Hill won 59-54 in their recent non-league challenge against Glenwood (New Boston, OH)
Next up, the Flyers play the Clay Panthers (Portsmouth, OH) in a Southern Ohio I challenge, on Thursday, February 1. St. Joseph Central will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 2-13 record after their 54-46 non-league loss to Eastern (Reedsville, OH).
