Texas High School Basketball - Edinburg overwhelms La Joya
January 30, 2024: Edinburg, TX 78539 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Edinburg Bobcats (Edinburg, TX) and the visiting La Joya Coyotes (La Joya, TX), saw Edinburg's basketball squad wallop La Joya by a tally of 81-24.
With the victory, Edinburg improves its record to 32-2 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX) to confront the Cougars in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Friday, February 2. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 16-16. Edinburg North won 39-31 in their recent league challenge against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo (San Juan, TX)
Next up, the Coyotes confront the Economedes Jaguars (Edinburg, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge, on Friday, February 2. La Joya will attempt to improve on its 9-27 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 7-19 record after their 57-32 league loss to Mission (Mission, TX).
