The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Merino Rams (Merino, CO) and the host Caliche Buffaloes (Iliff, CO), observed Merino's basketball team overcome Caliche by a margin of 55-38.

The Rams (4-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Simla (Simla, CO). The Cubs come into the non-league challenge with a 10-2 record. In their last challenge, Simla defeated Limon (Limon, CO), 59-44, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Buffaloes battle the Lone Star Longhorns (Otis, CO) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 3. Caliche will attempt to better on its 4-8 season record. The Longhorns come into the challenge with a 5-5 record after their 50-30 league loss to Arickaree (Anton, CO).
