In Friday's non-league contest, the host Elkins Tigers basketball team scored a close 62-56 triumph over the Hampshire Trojans.

The Tigers (5-4) will now prepare for their contest against Robert C. Byrd (Clarksburg, WV). The Eagles go into the Big Ten contest with a 6-3 record. In their last contest, Robert C. Byrd nipped Grafton (Grafton, WV), 54-42, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Keyser Golden Tornado (Keyser, WV) in a Potomac Valley AA contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Hampshire will attempt to better on its 6-7 season record.
