In Friday's league contest, the visiting Weddington Warriors basketball team scored a good 53-35 win over the Porter Ridge Pirates.

The Warriors (15-5) will now prepare for their contest against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC). The Spartans come into the 4A Southern Carolina contest with a 7-12 record.

In their next game, the Pirates battle the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a 4A Southern Carolina contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Porter Ridge will attempt to better on its 4-16 season record. The Cavaliers come into the contest with a 11-7 record after their 56-41 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC).
