In Friday's league contest, the host Canon-McMillan Big Macs basketball team scored a close 48-47 triumph over the Hempfield Area Spartans.

The Big Macs (11-7) will now prepare for their contest against Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA). The Knights go into the non-league contest with a 10-8 record. In their last contest, Norwin was tipped by South Fayette (McDonald, PA), 48-36, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Upper St. Clair Panthers (Upper St. Clair, PA) in a WPIAL 6A 2 contest, on Monday, February 3. Hempfield Area will attempt to better on its 10-9 season record.
