January 31, 2025: New London, CT 06320 New London Whalers (New London, CT) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Woodstock Academy Centaurs (Woodstock, CT), 63-36 in a league match.
With the victory, New London upgrades its record to 4-8 on the year. The Whalers travel to Norwich Free Academy (Norwich, CT) to face the Wildcats in a Eastern Connecticut - 1 match on Monday, February 3. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 10-5. Norwich Free Academy won 44-43 in their recent league match against Fitch (Groton, CT)
The Centaurs now sport a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ponaganset for a non-league match on Monday, February 3. Woodstock Academy will face a Chieftains squad coming off a 54-30 league win over Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI). The Chieftains record now stands at 15-1.
