January 4, 2023: Salem, AR 72576 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) and the host Salem Greyhounds (Salem, AR), saw Newport's basketball squad knock off Salem by a tally of 64-44.
With the victory, Newport improves its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Greyhounds host Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A Region 2 challenge on Friday, January 6. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 9-8. Tuckerman won 67-54 in their recent league challenge against Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR)
Next up, the Greyhounds play the Tuckerman Bulldogs (Tuckerman, AR) in a 3A Region 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Salem will attempt to improve on its 3-2 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 9-9 record after their 50-43 league loss to Newport (Newport, AR).
