The Northland Eagles basketball team scored 97 points and held the visiting Mesabi East Giants to 42 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Eagles now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Littlefork-Big Falls for a A Section 7 contest on Monday, January 8. Northland will battle a Vikings team coming off a 75-72 non-league loss to Greenway (Coleraine, MN). The Vikings record now stands at 6-2.
