The Branford Buccaneers basketball squad (Branford, FL), was nudged 60-55 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Union County Fightin' Tigers (Lake Butler, FL)

With the victory, Union County advances its record to 5-2 on the year. The Fightin' Tigers host Dixie County (Cross City, FL) to meet the Bears in a Rural District 6 battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Bears enter the battle with a record of 1-6. Dixie County lost 46-44 in their recent non-league battle against Lafayette (Mayo, FL)

The Buccaneers now own a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Aucilla Christian for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 7. Branford will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 77-44 non-league win over St. John Lutheran (Ocala, FL). The Warriors record now stands at 7-5.
