In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Schaumburg Saxons basketball team scored a big 59-16 win over the Elgin Maroons.

The Saxons (11-5) will now prepare for their contest against Benet Academy (Lisle, IL). The Redwings come into the non-league contest with a 13-2 record. In their last contest, Benet Academy smashed Stevenson (Lincolnshire, IL), 67-55, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Maroons battle the West Aurora Blackhawks (Aurora, IL) in a Upstate Eight contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Elgin will attempt to better on its 2-16 season record. The Blackhawks come into the contest with a 6-8 record after their 58-45 league win over Elmwood Park (Elmwood Park, IL).
