The Union Grove Lions basketball team scored 73 points and held the visiting Big Sandy Wildcats to 72 in the Lions league triumph on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to McLeod for a 2A Region III District 21 contest on Friday, January 12.

The Wildcats (8-10) will now prepare for their contest against McLeod (McLeod, TX). The Longhorns enter the 2A Region III District 21 contest with a 25-2 record. In their last contest, McLeod nudged Ore City (Ore City, TX), 67-25, in a league contest.
