January 5, 2024: New Caney, TX 77357 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the New Caney Eagles (New Caney, TX) and the visiting Caney Creek Panthers (Conroe, TX), saw New Caney's basketball squad hold off Caney Creek by a count of 57-50.
With the victory, New Caney upgrades its record to 10-14 on the campaign. The Eagles host Willis (Willis, TX) to play the Wildkats in a 6A Region II District 13 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Wildkats come into the challenge with a record of 15-8. Willis won 72-55 in their recent league challenge against Oak Ridge (Conroe, TX)
Next up, the Panthers play the Conroe Tigers (Conroe, TX) in a 6A Region II District 13 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Caney Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 5-16 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 13-9 record after their 86-67 league loss to College Park (The Woodlands, TX).
