In Friday's league outing, the Newton Braves (Newton, NJ) basketball squad nipped the host High Point Wildcats (Sussex, NJ), by a margin of 56-51.

The Braves (3-6) will now prepare for their outing against Lenape Valley (Stanhope, NJ). The Patriots go into the Northwest Jersey - Freedom outing with a 5-4 record. In their last outing, Lenape Valley got by South Hunterdon (Lambertville, NJ), 48-33, in a non-league outing.

The Wildcats now own a 5-3 record. They play next when they travel to Morris County Tech for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 9. High Point will clash with a Devils squad coming off a 71-43 non-league loss to American Christian School (Wharton, NJ). The Devils record now stands at 2-8.
