North Carolina High School Basketball - Pinecrest crushes Southern Lee

January 5, 2024: Southern Pines, NC 28387

Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC), 73-26 in a league bout.

With the victory, Pinecrest upgrades its record to 3-8 on the campaign. The Patriots host Lee County (Sanford, NC) to play the Yellow Jackets in a 3A/4A Sandhills bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Yellow Jackets come into the bout with a record of 5-4. Lee County won 59-15 in their recent non-league bout against Jordan-Matthews (Siler City, NC)

Next up, the Cavaliers play the Hoke County Bucks (Raeford, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Southern Lee will attempt to upgrade on its 0-10 season record. The Bucks come into the bout with a 2-11 record after their 71-23 league loss to Richmond (Rockingham, NC).
