Minnesota High School Basketball - Mankato East holds off John Marshall
January 6, 2022: Mankato, MN 56001 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Mankato East Cougars (Mankato, MN) and the visiting John Marshall Rockets (Rochester, MN), saw Mankato East's basketball squad hold off John Marshall by a tally of 36-31.
With the victory, Mankato East improves its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Marshall (Marshall, MN) to confront the Tigers in a AAA Section 2 challenge on Saturday, January 8. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 8-1. Marshall won 41-33 in their recent non-league challenge against Luverne (Luverne, MN)
Next up, the Rockets confront the Lakeville North Panthers (Lakeville, MN) in a AAAA Section 1 challenge, on Saturday, January 8. John Marshall will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 5-3 record after their 46-44 non-league win over Eagan (Eagan, MN).
