West Virginia High School Basketball - Weir edges Brooke
January 6, 2023: Wellsburg, WV 26070 The Weir Red Riders (Weirton, WV) basketball nipped the host Brooke Bruins (Wellsburg, WV), 57-55 in Friday's non-league test.
The Red Riders (4-4) will now prepare for their test against Burgettstown (Burgettstown, PA). The Blue Devils go into the non-league test with a 4-4 record. In their last test, Burgettstown got by Bethlehem Center (Fredericktown, PA), 68-50, in a league test.
The Bruins now own a 3-4 record. They play next when they host Bellaire for a non-league test on Saturday, January 7. Brooke will encounter a Big Reds squad coming off a 75-62 non-league win over Union Local (Belmont, OH). The Big Reds record now stands at 8-0.
