In Friday's non-league match, the host Mathews Blue Devils basketball team scored a decisive 45-8 triumph over the Carver College and Career Academy Wolverines.

In their next game, the Blue Devils meet the Rappahannock Raiders (Warsaw, VA) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, January 10. Mathews will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Raiders enter the match with a 8-2 record after their 59-36 non-league win over Surry County (Dendron, VA).
