Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) and the visiting Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC), saw Weddington's basketball squad wallop Piedmont by a tally of 49-20.

With the victory, Weddington improves its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC) to confront the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 2-7. Porter Ridge lost 34-24 in their recent non-league challenge against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC)
