The Monroe Bearcats basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the host Stanwood Spartans to 58 in the Bearcats league victory on Saturday.

The Bearcats now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marysville-Pilchuck for a 2A/3A Wesco contest on Tuesday, January 9. Monroe will battle a Tomahawks team coming off a 69-56 league loss to Everett (Everett, WA). The Tomahawks record now stands at 2-11.
