Holmes Huskies (San Antonio, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Taft Raiders (San Antonio, TX), 57-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Holmes upgrades its record to 12-14 on the season. The Huskies host Brennan (San Antonio, TX) to play the Bears in a 6A Region IV District 29 bout on Wednesday, January 10. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 19-3. Brennan won 67-38 in their recent league bout against Sotomayor (San Antonio, TX)

Next up, the Raiders play the Jay Mustangs (San Antonio, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 29 bout, on Wednesday, January 10. Taft will attempt to upgrade on its 8-18 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 17-9 record after their 51-46 league loss to Harlan (San Antonio, TX).
