Lake Creek Lions (Montgomery, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Porter Spartans (Porter, TX), 61-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Lake Creek upgrades its record to 9-15 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Cleveland (Cleveland, TX) to play the Indians in a 5A Region III District 20 bout on Tuesday, January 11. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 8-11. Cleveland lost 68-52 in their recent league bout against New Caney (New Caney, TX)

Next up, the Spartans play the Montgomery Bears (Montgomery, TX) in a 5A Region III District 20 bout, on Tuesday, January 11. Porter will attempt to upgrade on its 10-13 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 9-14 record after their 57-34 league loss to Kingwood Park (Kingwood, TX).
