In Saturday's non-league outing, the Meridian Mustangs (Daykin, NE) basketball squad nipped the visiting Shelby-Rising City Huskies (Shelby, NE), by a margin of 43-41.

The Mustangs (2-9) will now prepare for their outing against Exeter-Milligan (Exeter, NE). The Timberwolves go into the D2 District 2 outing with a 5-6 record. In their last outing, Exeter-Milligan got by Shelby-Rising City (Shelby, NE), 46-39, in a non-league outing.

The Huskies now own a 4-6 record. They play next when they host Centennial for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 10. Shelby-Rising City will clash with a Broncos squad coming off a 49-38 non-league win over Raymond Central (Raymond, NE). The Broncos record now stands at 8-4.
