The Twin Lakes Indians (Monticello, IN) basketball nipped the visiting North Newton Spartans (Morocco, IN), 55-52 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Indians (6-6) will now prepare for their test against Kankakee Valley (Wheatfield, IN). The Kougars go into the non-league test with a 3-8 record. In their last test, Kankakee Valley was edged by Michigan City (Michigan City, IN), 48-47, in a non-league bout.

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Faith Christian Eagles (Lafayette, IN) in a Midwest bout, on Friday, January 13. North Newton will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 54-51 non-league win over Pioneer (Royal Center, IN).
