The Fairmont Golden Tornadoes tipped the visiting Scotland Fighting Scots basketball team by a final score of 42-36 in Saturday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Golden Tornadoes face the West Bladen Knights (Bladenboro, NC) in a 2A Conference 7 game, on Tuesday, January 10. Fairmont will attempt to move on its 11-3 season record. The Knights enter the game with a 8-3 record after their 72-41 league loss to East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC).

With the defeat, Scotland moves to 6-7 on the year. The Fighting scots host Lee County (Sanford, NC) to face the Yellow Jackets in a 3A/4A Conference 24 game on Friday, January 13. The Yellow Jackets enter the game with a record of 9-2.
