The Mount Vernon Bulldogs basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting Meridian Trojans to 34 in the Bulldogs league triumph on Saturday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sehome for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest contest on Wednesday, January 11. Mount Vernon will meet a Mariners team coming off a 74-40 league win over Lakewood (Arlington, WA). The Mariners record now stands at 8-0.

The Trojans (1-4) will now prepare for their contest against Blaine (Blaine, WA). The Borderites enter the 1A/2A/3A Northwest contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Blaine ran past Sedro-Woolley (Sedro-Woolley, WA), 58-42, in a league contest.
