In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Champlain Valley Union Redhawks basketball team scored a big 60-36 triumph over the Essex Hornets.

The Redhawks (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against Rice Memorial (South Burlington, VT). The Green Knights go into the Metro contest with a 6-1 record. In their last contest, Rice Memorial smashed St. Johnsbury Academy (St. Johnsbury, VT), 78-56, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Hornets battle the South Burlington Wolves (South Burlington, VT) in a Metro contest, on Friday, January 10. Essex will attempt to better on its 1-7 season record. The Wolves go into the contest with a 4-4 record after their 76-29 non-league win over Milton (Milton, VT).
