The George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA) basketball edged the visiting Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA), 76-70 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Eagles now possess a 11-1 record. They play next when they host Landstown for a non-league bout on Saturday, January 11. George Washington will play a Eagles team coming off a 59-57 league loss to Green Run (Virginia Beach, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 8-2.

With the loss, Halifax County falls to 8-5 on the campaign. The Comets host Martinsville (Martinsville, VA) to play the Bulldogs in a Piedmont bout on Thursday, January 9.
